The Life of Brent Walker

1969 - Brent Makes a Deal

In 1969 Brent struck a deal with universal consciousness to come down to planet earth. Brent knew before his physical manifestation that he would use photography as his primary method for learning and teaching.

1970 - The Immaculate Conception

The blessed event took place somewhere around Sept, 1970. The details are sketchy at best but all agree that Pabst Blue Ribbon and the state fair were involved.

* Retraction: It was earlier implied that this may have taken place in a car. No cars were involved at all. Not the back seat, not the front, not in a Pinto, a Camero or even an El Camino. To be clear... no car.

1971 - Somersault Into Existence

Brent was born on June 1st, 1971 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, GA to proud parents, Phyllis and Wesley Walker.

No wise men brought gifts, but there were unconfirmed reports of long haired bearded angels with tie dyes and Djembes ascending on St. Joe's and playing "Joy to the World" (the 3 Dog Night Version) .

1971-1976 Cat Food and a Call from God

Cat Food - Brent had several girlfriends by the age of 4. Allison, the next door neighbor who liked cat food, Meredith, the girl who liked ketchup sandwiches and of course Kim who fancied herself a doctor of sorts.

Brent attributes most of his success with the ladies to his snazzy wardrobe.

Call from God - It was during this time that Brent proclaimed that he wanted to be a man of the cloth, a Priest! When his very proud mother asked "why?" he was quoted as saying "because, they only have to work on Sundays"

1976-1985 Youth

Catholic School - It became very evident from an early age that Brent had above average intelligence but below average tolerance for authority. From the uniform to getting smacked by angry nuns, Catholic School never quite clicked. Brent remembers thinking to himself "Being married to God must make you bitchy and mean!"

Family - Brent was the oldest of 3 boys. He had two loving parents that attempted to give him every advantage in life.

Baseball - Brent's favorite sport was baseball. He was an average player. Every other year he would get to pitch which was good for him but often bad for the kids dodging his wild pitches.

1987 - Riverside Military Academy

After watching the movie Taps and wanting to escape life as he knew it, Brent decided to go to Military School with his buddy John.

This proved to be the biggest mistake of his young life. The sexually frustrated teachers and brown nosing cadets were the source of much unease for Brent. He was mercifully accepted back into civilian life after 6 long months of shining shoes and brass.

1987-1992 The Lost Years of Brent

Brent attended Milton High in Alpharetta, GA. Upon entering, he became fast friends with other young lads who had equal disdain for authority.

Not much is known about this period of his life. There are baseless rumors that he spent a lot of time in the parking lots of Grateful Dead shows cavorting with the angels who appeared at his birth.

1992-1998 - Food and The Second Coming

Culinary School - Brent graduated at the top of his class from culinary school. He embraced the high stress environment of the kitchen and excelled in his craft. While in the business, Brent won the hearts and minds of the wait staff with now famous quotes like, "Look Jacques, if you don't get this #$@^ing food out of my window right now, I am personally going to stick your ass on the next boat back to France!!!"

Birth of Taylor - In 1996, Brent was blessed with an unexpected gift of a beautiful daughter, Taylor. Little did he know what a cool kid she would turn out to be and how close they would become. When she discovered her love of drumming, the Djembe toting hippie angels all of a sudden made sense.

1998-2005 - Computer Age

Brent decided to leave the restaurant business behind and find other creative avenues. With the Internet kicking into high gear he jumped on board. He started out designing sites for small businesses.

He was then hired on by SunTrust Bank and through hard work and selling off pieces of his soul, rose to the position of Interactive Creative Director. He stayed with the bank until he knew he must leave or die, completely unfulfilled at the hands of corporate America (no over-dramatization intended). There was one aspect of his job that he loved... directing photo shoots.

2004... Regaining Consciousness

Many stars aligned at once. Brent was in the middle of a divorce, had just gained custody of his daughter and had decided to leave the stability of his corporate job. While sitting on the side of a mountain one fall day, it became more than clear that he should follow his passion for photography wholeheartedly. Since that day Brent has never looked back.

When asked about his career as a photographer, Brent was quoted as saying, "I'm grateful that I'm on this path. Most people don't get to do what they love for a living. I do!

One of the things I love most is the diversity. One day I may be shooting for my business, Lucky Pinup, the next a magazine cover and the next a homeless person. There is joy and serenity in doing what you are meant to do and I experience that daily."
